- European gaming market revenues totaled €25.7 billion in 2023, up 5% from 2022.
- Consoles accounted for 41% of revenue, down slightly from 42% in 2022. Mobile devices also took 41%, down from 42% last year. PCs grew to 14% share (up from 12% in 2022) and streaming services maintained their 3% share, the same as the previous year.
- The top sellers among games in Europe in 2023 were EA Sports FC 24, Hogwarts Legacy and Grand Theft Auto V. What's interesting is that another Rockstar game, Red Dead Redemption 2, also made the list. This emphasizes the players' interest in old games as much as in newer ones.
- In Europe, 53% of the population is into video games, of which 75% are adults. The average age of a player is 31.4 years old. Compared to 2022, the number of gamers in the 15 to 44 age group has increased.
- The average amount of time Europeans spend playing video games is 8.9 hours per week, a figure that has remained stable since 2012. At the same time, Europeans spend significantly more time on social media (16.3 hours per week) and watching TV shows and series (24 hours per week).
- Europe's gaming industry employs 114,400 people, of which 24.4% are women, an increase of 1.3% from 2022. In Sweden in particular, women accounted for 44% of new hires in 2023.
